BPW collects items for Louisiana military women

Here are items needed: snack foods (crackers, cookies, cereal bars, granola bars, etc.), feminine hygiene products, lotions, non-perishable foods/meals, drink mixes (Crystal Light, Kool-Aid; Gator Aide), phone cards, baby wipes, magazines, books, microwave popcorn, gum, canned chicken, beef jerky, hard candy, sheets, pillowcases, pillows, cotton socks, flip-flops to wear in the shower, honey, lip balm, toothbrushes, dental floss, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, playing cards and shower gel.  Also, puzzles and games, AA and AAA batteries, foot powder and small toys to give to the local children.  A few things to remember: send items with easy-open lids, unscented, no pork products and no chocolate because it melts. If you send bottles of shampoo, lotion, cream, etc., put them in a zip-top plastic bag.

This may sound like small stuff to us, but these care packages have significant positive morale impact for women serving in defense of our country. Sorry, no homemade items are allowed.

To arrange to get your donation to BPW, contact Gwen Amelin at gwena@arcomonroe.org or Lisa Hibner at lhibner@ladelta.edu or contact the organization through the website, www.bpwmonroe-westmonroe.org
